You do not need DaVinci Resolve for the audio and text side of SCRIPTZ. Open it from your
desktop, pick the files, and it works - whether you cut in Premiere, Final Cut, CapCut,
or nothing at all.
Drop in MP4, MOV, MKV, WAV, MP3, FLAC and more - the finished file lands next to the
original. The other nine tools cut and arrange clips on a
timeline, so those still need Resolve. One subscription covers both ways of

Will I be charged when I start the free trial?
No. Checkout asks for a card so the subscription can continue automatically, but the amount charged today is €0.00 - you get the installers and your licence key straight away and the full 7 days to try everything. The first payment is only taken on day 8. Cancel before then, in one click from your Lemon Squeezy account, and you are never charged.
Is SCRIPTZ a subscription?

What happens if I cancel?
Your licence stays active until the end of the billing period you already paid for. After that, the tools stop running until you resubscribe.
Do I need DaVinci Resolve at all?
Not for everything. Nine tools - Voice Chain, Auto Subtitles, Dubbing, Voice Creator, Voice Convert, Chapters & Notes, Music Ducking, Auto-Censor and Render Cleanup - run on their own: you open SCRIPTZ from your desktop and point it at files. The other nine cut and arrange clips on a timeline, so those need Resolve 18 or newer (Free is fine).
Do these work with DaVinci Resolve Free?
Yes - SCRIPTZ runs entirely through Resolve's built-in Lua scripting, which is available on the Free version too. You don't need Studio.
Do I have to pay extra for the AI features?
No. Every AI feature has a local model that runs on your own computer at no extra cost, included in the subscription. If you want the best possible quality you can optionally add your own API key from a cloud provider (Google Gemini, OpenAI, Groq) - in that case you pay that provider directly, typically cents per project. We never charge you for AI usage and we take no cut.
Does my footage get uploaded anywhere?
Not unless you choose a cloud model. By default everything runs locally and your video and audio never leave your machine. If you enable a cloud AI feature with your own API key, the relevant frames or transcript are sent from your computer straight to that provider - never through us. SCRIPTZ has no server, no analytics and no telemetry.
Do I need a powerful graphics card?
No, but it helps. Local models run faster on a GPU; on a weaker machine you can either use the smaller local models or a cloud API key, which works on any hardware. SCRIPTZ checks your machine on first run and tells you which option makes sense for you.
Do I need DaVinci Resolve?
For most tools, yes - they cut, arrange and render on your timeline, so Resolve has to be open. But SCRIPTZ also starts on its own: you pick files from your disk and work on them directly. That mode gives you the nine tools whose result is a finished file - Auto Subtitles, Dubbing, Chapters & Notes, Voice Chain, Voice Creator, Voice Convert, Music Ducking, Auto-Censor and Render Cleanup. The editing tools like Autoswitch, Reels and B-roll stay Resolve-only, because without a timeline there is nothing to cut. It is one and the same installer - you choose by how you open it.
Do I need to export my timeline first?
No. Inside Resolve every tool works on your open timeline - no export, no round-trip. And if you work without Resolve, you point SCRIPTZ straight at the files on your disk instead.
How many cameras or mics does Autoswitch support?
Two at the minimum, and there is no upper limit - five, eight, as many as you have. The rule is one microphone per person, because that is how Autoswitch works out who is talking. A camera without its own microphone can still be used as the wide shot.
Does Voice Chain replace my mic with a processed version?
Voice Chain exports new WAV files with the processed audio. You place those files on your timeline in place of the originals - your source files are never modified.
What exactly does the installer put on my computer?
SCRIPTZ is a desktop application. Here is everything it touches, and nothing else happens.
On Windows the application goes to %LOCALAPPDATA%\SCRIPTZ, and if you tick the DaVinci Resolve
component, one launcher file (SCRIPTZ.lua) is copied into Resolve’s own scripts folder,
%APPDATA%\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Fusion\Scripts\Utility. That folder is what makes
the tool appear under Workspace → Scripts.
On macOS the application goes to ~/Library/Application Support/SCRIPTZ and the same launcher file
into Resolve’s Scripts/Utility folder.
Shortcuts are added to the desktop and Start menu. Nothing else is changed: no browser settings, no system settings,
no Windows service, no entry that starts with your computer, and no other software is bundled or installed alongside
it.
How do I uninstall it?
On Windows, open Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find SCRIPTZ and choose Uninstall.
That removes the application and the Resolve launcher.
On macOS, delete the folder ~/Library/Application Support/SCRIPTZ and the file
SCRIPTZ.lua from Resolve’s Scripts/Utility folder.
Uninstalling never touches your video files, your projects or your Resolve timelines. If you also want the subscription to
end, cancel it in your Lemon Squeezy account - one click, no reason required.
What data does SCRIPTZ send anywhere?
Your media stays on your machine. Two things do leave it, and only these:
your licence key is checked against Lemon Squeezy so the subscription can be verified, and the app asks scriptz.eu
whether a newer version exists. If you deliberately pick a cloud AI model for a tool - your choice in the interface,
never the default - then that tool sends the audio or text it needs to the provider you picked.
With the local models nothing leaves your computer at all. There is no analytics, no telemetry and no advertising ID
